The technician confirmed that the pane had lost its seal and removed it easily and neatly. The new pane is picture perfect and restored our view.

Feb 14, 2018The internal privacy shades failed in one of our sliders. It took 6 weeks to get someone out just to look at it to tell us we needed a new one. Then took another 6 weeks to have a person actually come fix it. So, for 3 months we could open or operate one of the shades on our 1 year old sliding door.
That tells me the quality is so bad on their products, they have a huge backlog on fixing their broken products. I would not recommend.

Feb 14, 2018Our appt was scheduled one month in advance, and we received a late cancellation/rescheduling from milgard on the date of service. All and all, I'm glad that the window was eventually replaced, and the technician was very helpful and professional. However, we are unhappy about the last-minute rescheduling.

Feb 14, 2018I’ve recommended Milgard to all and sundry, precisely because Milgard stands behind their products with a Full Lifetime Warranty. Plus you don’t even have to go through the installer to obtain service. Each time I’ve used Milgard service, their techs were totally professional, super nice and obviously happy and proud to be working for such a good company.
And oh, of course their Tuscany and Quiet Line (soundproofing) models are beautiful to look at, too. Since I moved back to the US after 20 years in Paris, I am probably even more demanding than most when it comes to quality and style...
I now have two Tuscany French doors, 3 Quiet Line windows for a bedroom that fronts on the street and another on the side of the house – since I’m a classical musician and extremely sensitive to noise! – plus 14 windows in an assortment of single hung, double hung, single slider, double slider, picture with side lights, casement and awning, installed over a 6-year period in 3 separate projects, as I took the time to make all the improvements “correctly” in my house.
The fact that I didn’t even bother looking at any other brand than Milgard after the first project (of only 4 windows) should really speak for itself!

Feb 14, 2018I had an issue with my sliding screen door track and lock. Called Milgard, waited for a long time on hold, then the product couldn't be located. The call itself took about 40 minutes. The representative was professional but the process was overly complicated.
I specifically requested 2 issues be resolved. To fix the track and fix the broken lock. I was told the track would be under warranty but the lock may not be. I offered to pay for the lock or even a new screen door and was told the technician could address onsite. Again I was happy to pay whatever it took to fix, I just wanted to get the service done.
I set an appointment for over a month out which was the earliest they had available. I had to take a half day off work to meet the technician because they Milgard doesn't give a reasonable window of time until the day before.
When the technician arrived he quickly fixed the track in about 5 minutes but completely ignored replacing the lock, said he had no doors, and no lock hardware. He was short and dismissive of the issues, basically saying that I would have to call customer support again and go through the same process with an additional appointment.
All in all, it was a bad service experience. I could have easily done these repairs myself if the parts were readily available but the system is set up in a way that makes you dependent on Milgard for service and parts. Its nice to have a lifetime warranty on hardware but only if you can get the service you need. The service I received was slow, inconvenient, dismissive and unfortunately incomplete.

Feb 14, 2018Evidently there was a class action lawsuit which they said I was involved in: I was not. So it took a bit of time and phone calls to get that resolved. After that was done, the service was amazing.

Feb 14, 2018Everyone has heard about 'lifetime warranties' but can one really believe that? Well it turns out that you can with Milgard. Our kitchen picture window fogged up after fifteen or so years, so I called them. I had lost the receipt. A technician came out and found the date stamp on the window and ordered a replacement. Later two technicians arrived (on time), replaced the window, cleaned up everything and left me filled with gratitude.

Feb 14, 2018I love the lifetime warranty on these windows. We built our house in 1988 and Milgard still has our files on record and come out promptly to evaluate any window problem. They have come out 2-3 times to replace fogged glass. These windows on the south side of our house receive a lot of direct sunlight and heat and are 30 years old but still performing well. Appreciate the replacements and no questions asked.

Understandably, I was concerned about how much it was going to cost to replace the window and how hard it was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised when I called Milgard and was told that there would be no charge and they could come within a few weeks. The technicians showed up on time, they were friendly and clean. Within 30 minutes they had completed the replacement and cleaned up. Outstanding job, thanks Milgard.
