Service Rep called to advise he was on his way, arrived promptly according to estimated time of appointment. He looked at the window leaking badly, first advised it was due to our window blinds(shades) being totally closed. If they are not closed, window leaks so badly you have to be across the room from the window. He agreed the shades do block the cold air some. He replaced the side spring bars and installed new weather stripping around the window. This has helped some but as we advised, these windows just leak a lot of cold air. When moisture formed it made the paint on window sill pop off, leaving bare wood. This window is better than before he checked it. Thank you for the service call.

Feb 11, 2018Hi Milgard - OK, we are not the happiest of customers. Our local contractor was unable to fully install the windows correctly, so we had to immediately have factory service. Of 6 new windows, 5 had noted issues. 2 of those required replacement. We started Sept 28, 2017. FINALLY finished January 11, 2018.On the installation date of 9/28/17, one window arrived broken from factory and needed full replacement. Others would not latch correctly. Did not seem like screens fit tightly. I sent photos and an email to the company about the issues hoping it would help on Oct 9. I did not receive a response to that email. The Milgard representative came out on Oct 19. We found out that screen issue was easy to fix with small shims - apparently local contractor did not know about that. The broken window had to be re-ordered by him and required manufacturing time. With an obviously initially broken window, we do not know why the lag time on the new window order. The other window that did not latch was incorrectly manufactured with latch and lock offset - new half of window needed to be re-ordered.When I called to check on order after factory rep came for the initial problems (October 19), I was told no new replacements would be ready until after the new year and was given a date of January 11. Sigh. OK, we've already taken 2 days off of work for windows - hoping it was almost over. NOPE!! When I called on Jan 9 to check the timing of our appointment, I was told the factory had "lost" our order and they would send a technician to "re-measure" and "re-order" the problem windows and it would take at least another month! OK, now we are mad. We asked to speak to a manager, but we were told manager was unavailable. (the girl on the phone was unable to help other than just the scheduling dates). We were told the manager would call us, but we did ask for her name and number and we left a message asking her to call us. No call returned. We called a few days later, and were told they "found" our order and would come to install the windows on January 11. We asked to have the details of the order read to us, including that we were to have 2 windows completely repaired. She indicated that yes, 2 windows to be repaired/replaced.My husband took off ANOTHER day from work for the installer. FINALLY the windows were replaced and fixed to our satisfaction. Really, over 3 months for windows, with 2 trips from factory representative seems excessive, plus 3 days of lost work for us.If these had been ground floor windows that could not latch, I would have been concerned about home security. Fortunately, these were upper floor windows, so we were able to live without them latching securely. To leave this review on a semi-positive note, the windows themselves seem to be good quality and do a good job of blocking the heat on South and West exposures. We paid extra for argon gas and extra tinting, so we are happy with that. They do operate smoothly. However, we paid a lot of money for name brand Milgard windows that are supposed to have superior customer service. Other window brands are supposed to be of similar quality. We are not impressed with the communication and service from the factory. Our service technician from the factory seemed knowledgeable and professional (except for the "lost" order part - we don't know what happened). We would encourage Milgard to step up their level of communication within their company. We were disappointed we did not get a call back from the manager after we left a message and asked for a call back. Our neighbors also had windows installed right after we did - they asked us about our experience. We were honest and told them our difficulties. They chose another local dealer - we do not know if they chose Milgard windows, but they did not use the same local company we did due to concerns. Their windows were apparently installed without problems.Thank you for giving us the opportunity to provide feedback. You do not have to post this review, but we hope it helps with service in the future.Thank you.

Feb 10, 2018So pleased with Milgard service. They replaced my dual pane window when it developed moisture between panes. This window was 20 years old and a custom design window. I can't say enough good things about the wonderful service. I'd definitely recommend to anyone

Feb 10, 2018I have 2 panes of double pane glass where the seal had broke and moisture has got in between the glass. Notified Milgard on their web site and got response after a couple of weeks for the serial numbers of those panes. Reading those numbers was slightly challenging, especially if they are bleached by the sun. Replacement appointment was booked out a couple of months. But on that day it went smoothly. Got email notifying the 2 hour time window that the serviceman will arrive. One guy showed up and replaced the 2 panes within an hour.

Feb 10, 2018The service was excellent the only problem we had was the factory quality control. One of the windows required three trips to get a good window without flaws. Another window only required 1 trip to solve the problem. There needs to be a better factory qualith control sysyem.

Feb 10, 2018The service technicians were the best part of this entire experience. They were polite, efficient and solved the problem.
The issue I have is that this process started in November - three months ago! Milgard responded like a third rate company, not a nationwide organization who cared about their reputation.
On more than one occasion a service call was scheduled only to be cancelled at the last moment. Parts ordered were not received in a timely manner. Even when the parts had been received in your Temecula plant it took multiple inquiries to establish that they were in fact there. There were many people involved in the process and just about each one failed to do the job.

Feb 10, 2018I was very pleased with the Milgard services. The techs were pleasant and very efficient. I couldn't believe how fast they traded out 7 windows. They always covered their feet when they were in and they were in and out several times. One of the tech had to return a second time and replace a window that needed a different size glass and springs so two of new windows worked better. They were not only efficient they were very concerned to have windows they worked on working right. Great customer service. I've already shared your company name with a couple of friends and your warranty.
