Mar 09, 2018We've had several windows where seal has failed, leading to problems with the windows. In every case, they have responded quickly. This time, our long-time service provider Shawn, also swapped out the metal slides that allow the windows to go up and down. They've enhanced their technology, and this unexpected service has really made a huge difference. We've been fortunate to have the same technician for a number of window swaps, and he's truly awesome to work with - knowledgeable, personable and looks like he enjoys what he does. It comes through!

Mar 09, 2018Added an addition to my house and had to have a custom windows built. The house has Milgard windows from when we bought it so I thought it best to use them again so they match. 1st delivered the window with the wrong dimensions and had to remake it which added another 3 weeks causing a delay in the completion of the outside stucco of my house. Took 2 weeks just to get someone on the phone to give a timeline on delivery and they assured us it was the right dimensions but couldn't get them to send any paperwork to confirm. Today they just delivered the "replacement" window and they remade it exactly like the 1st wrong window. Completely wrong dimensions from the paperwork. They have some SERIOUS service issues going on. No matter the quality I would never recommend due to the hassle and massive delays they have cause in my remodel.

Mar 09, 2018It took four service visits before a permanent replacement was made. Twice, a replacement glass was rejected due to quality problems (faulty Low-E coating on the replacement) and during the lucky third try, when a acceptable replacement WAS received, an unfortunate accident left us with a window broken on install. This was NOT the service techs fault as he was working in less then optimum weather conditions. After the fourth try (which was expedited by Customer Service), the replacement is in and looks good.
The two rejected windows were flagged by the service tech, not by me, the owner. I am grateful they took the effort (and had the authority) to make those decisions.
So, service tech performance is A+, but quality control of the replacement window inserts, not so good.

Mar 09, 2018We recently renovated and Milgard was recommended by our contractor. The quality and attention to detail is poor. Several minor issues like rubber seals and scratches on vinyl were noted in many of the units. A French door has a bent mental strip that runs along the inside edge of the door that inhibits the opening and closing of the door. Another slider has deep scratch in the vinyl. Our largest purchase was a 12 x 8 slider. It arrived to our home significantly damaged and was installed with the promise Milgard would immediately repair or replace it. We were forced to file a warranty claim on a brand new product that arrived directly from the manufacturer damaged. If we were home at the time of install we would have rejected the order.
When Milgard finally arrived to repair the damaged unit the repairmen were extremely unprofessional. They had quite a lot of negative words to say about the installers as well. We immediately contacted our contractor and asked the repairmen to relay the issues they were having and they refused to speak with him. Then when our contractor came to meet with them they completely denied rejecting his call and the negative things they had shared directly to us. As consumers we are extremely disappointed in milgard from a quality as well as a customer service perspective. Unfortunately we are now stuck with these windows and fear that despite their lifetime warranty every potential issue will be met with resistance.

Mar 09, 2018After nearly 30 years of use our Milgard sliding glass door developed some air leakage where the two door halves interfaced. After some discussion on the phone the customer service department mentioned they had a service call in the area and would drop by to take a look. After assessing the condition the tech suggested a couple of possible fixes, but the primary cause of the leak was that the house had shifted on its foundation so aside from replacing the door, there was not much they could do. (By the way, I live on an Island)Although they were not able to resolve the air leak, their support and customer service was exemplary. After 30 years, to make a house call without charging us was almost unheard of in this day and age. No wonder they are still in business.

Mar 09, 2018We extensively remodeled our home 15 years ago, and that project involved changing out all of the windows in our existing home and adding new ones to the addition. We selected Milgard Windows for the project, and we continue to be pleased by the workmanship, durability, and customer service. Twice we experienced a mechanical failure on single hung windows, and both times a Milgard service tech quickly and efficiently made the repairs, since we have a lifetime warranty on the windows. We highly recommend Midgard windows.

Mar 09, 2018I have been very happy with my Milgard windows that replaced my original windows from 1925. We have had to have 2 panes replaced since the 40 windows were replaced 13 years ago. No problem getting them replaced. Once I contacted Milgard, they arranged to replace them, but it took a few months til they arrived. TEchnician showed up within the time scheduled each time, which I really appreciate and he was tidy and professional.

Mar 09, 2018The service tec was prompt, professional and informative. He made a great representation for Milgard.
I called for an appointment June or July 2017. I had several appointment times cancelled by Milgard; the window was replaced in March 2018. 8 or 9 months to have a window replaced is un-acceptable. Milgard had been more effecient in the past.
I made so many calls to Milgard, I cannot rate phone conversations.Cannot recommend Milgard anymore, except for the tec person.

Mar 09, 2018The In-home Service Techs were professional and got the job done in the snow. It appears the Techs were not given all the proper parts that may be needed to replace the window panel. They did not have a replacement gasket and ended up using the original one which was broken and torn over the years.I'm concerned that IT MAY LEAK in the future and NEED TO REDO the work. The process of getting an appointment took about six months, which seems far too long.

Mar 08, 2018Milgard needs to improve communication between the service techs and production. The service techs are very knowledgeable and sent multiple written requests to manufacturing over a period of over 6 months to resolve a grid discrepancy. When the tech returned with the parts requested, they were either incomplete of wrong. To make thing worse each return visit took 30 to 60 days. These delays could have been avoided if manufacturing would have read and fallowed the service technician’s request in the first place. These mistakes are costly and look bad for Milgard and the customer/contractor. I feel it would being the best interest of the management and the employees of Milgard to get back to the basics of customer service that Milgard reputation was built on. The failure to improve has only one direction and that’s going out of business.
